Mr. Barry has over thirty years of experience practicing law, including seven years as General Counsel for Shuffle Master, Inc. (acquired by Bally Technologies).

While at Shuffle Master, Mr. Barry supervised litigation, represented the company in labor and employment matters, drafted and negotiated the company’s contracts, and advised the company’s Board of Directors.

Since rejoining the firm in 2002, Mr. Barry’s practice has focused on representing businesses and individuals in all facets of business development, complex transactional work, and general corporate law.

Mr. Barry is a graduate of St. John’s University and earned his law degree at St. Louis University School of law.

He is admitted to the Minnesota State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Mr. Bolser has over 30 years experience and has been at the forefront of cardiovascular innovation and technology allowing him the opportunity to have a hands on participation in the evolution of cardiac surgery. He has been a consultant to very large medical device companies and early stage start-ups.

Mr. Bolser is the founder and President of CJ Development a company seeking to create and improve surgical devices. They have several patents and patents pending.

The company has licensed patents to device companies and Mr. Bolser has served as medical design and surgical research design consultant to several others.

Mr. Conover’s company has assisted in the design and development of material components in the areas of bio-compatibility, lubricity, bondability, antimicrobial, antithrombogenic, drug release, conductivity and much more in the contribution toward safer and more reliable devices.

AMT is a leading research and development company in Biocompatible implant material coatings for surface application to a wide variety of materials such as polyurethanes, silicones, fluoro-polymers, polyamides, polymides, PVC, polyesters and polycarbonates.

The company has licensed patents to device companies and Mr. Bolser has served as medical design and surgical research design consultant to several others.

Dr. Kaye is a semi-retired cardio-thoracic surgeon who received his training at St. Louis University and the Mayo Clinic. He has a distinguished career at Loyola University, Mayo Clinic, University of Minnesota, and the Heart and Lung Institute of San Diego.

Dr. Kaye organized and maintained the registry of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. He has 191 publications to his name. Dr. Kaye was also the first editor of the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and during his 10 years as editor, he developed it into an internationally recognized journal.

During his career, Dr. Kaye was the Director of the Artificial Heart Facility at the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute (IITRI) and managed the Heart and Lung Institute at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Kaye has also had extensive interaction with the industry, having served as a consultant to a number of major device and pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Lindsay is noteworthy in the advancement of heart surgery in Minnesota and North America.

He and Dr. Nicoloff preformed the first heart transplant in Minnesota at the University of Minnesota in March of 1978; Dr. Lindsay was the Founder and President of the Minneapolis Heart Institute, He and Dr. Kersten did the first heart transplant at the Minneapolis Heart Institute.

Dr. Lindsay performed the first implant of the ATS Bileaflet valve in North America while serving as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Manitoba in1996.

He was the Founder of the United Heart Center, United Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota. There, he performed the 100,000 ATS Bileaflet Valve. He also performed the first 3F-Tissue valve implant at St. Joseph Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota in 2008.

Dr. Lindsay has 105 publications, presentations and abstracts to his name. He is an active member of the surgical research team and an active participant in the NeoCardial product development phases. He is also on the University Of Minnesota Board Of Advisors.

Dr. Masterson received his doctoral degree in Chemistry in 2008 at the University of Minnesota.

Since beginning his Ph.D., his work has led to over 20 publications, highlighted in journals such as Nature and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

His research mainly aimed at studies of protein-protein interactions in the context of heart muscle contractility, specifically those that are correlated with dilated cardiomyopathy.

The research of Dr. Masterson on the understanding of the mechanism behind protein dysfunction includes Alzheimer’s disease and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy from the head injuries of athletes.

Using a battery of techniques, he is working to establish a general framework for the physical basis of protein aggregation. His long term goal is to establish a clearer understanding of the connection between protein structure, dynamics, and function, particularly in the context of disease.

Mr. Nammacher has worked at the firm since 1992, and is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and a charterholder member of the NY Society of Security Analysts.

Mr. Nammacher has extensive experience in financial consulting, business valuations and acquisitions/divestitures.

He spent six years doing acquisitions, divestitures, special financing, and general financial consulting for PepsiCo and Marigold Enterprises, a boutique management consulting & leveraged buyout firm.

His background also includes experience with Arthur Anderson & Co. where he managed equity, debt, warrant/option, NOL and intangible asset valuations, along with general financial consulting engagements. He has valued a wide variety of publicly and privately-held companies for acquisitions, share repurchases, estate and Gift-Tax reporting, recapitalizations, and general corporate planning purposes.

He has developed business plans and financing packages, and has been involved in complete transactions totaling over $2.0 billion.

Dr. Saliterman is the founder of Cardiosynthetics™, a research and development organization of medical devices based on novel biomaterials, microfabrication and application of nanotechnologies. Among its pioneering efforts are “large scale” bioMEMS integration for the next generation of synthetic organs and organ assist devices.

As an early computer designer he received achievement awards from the Professional Engineers Society of Minnesota and the U.S. Army.

Dr. Saliterman participated in early designs of the Space Shuttle, Space Lab and developed implantable devices for space research.

He also designed and patented a system for simulating critical care patient management, inclusive of a manikin apparatus for practicing heart catheterization.

Dr. Saliterman is an author, and his book, Fundamentals of BioMEMS and Medical Microdevices, is the first college-level text book in the field. His work has been published in such peer-reviewed journals as the Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Expert Review of Medical Devices and Annals of Biomedical Engineering.

Dr. Saliterman has been guest lecturer at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Mayo Clinic. He has been a guest speaker at the University of Minnesota’s Design of Medical Devices, and the Minnesota Medical Alley sponsored MedEdge International Conferences. Dr. Saliterman is an active member of NeoCardial’s design and development team.

During his career he has researched, developed and participated in the evolution of heart surgery and mechanical assist. He has extensive experience with the surgical repair of diseased Aortic and Mitral valves with surgical repair and or replacement with artificial valves.

Dr. Von Rueden has been a major contributor in the development of heart transplant procedures, ventricular assist devices as bridge to transplant, total artificial heart use as bridge to transplantation and mechanical circulatory assistance after heart transplantation.

His work also includes early development of procedural implant techniques of the implantable defibrillator in the Cardiac Transplant candidate and the surgical approach for implantation of the automatic Cardioverter Defibrillator.

Dr. Von Rueden has authored and co-authored 28 manuscripts on the above mentioned topics of heart surgery and treatment by use of artificial devices.

Dr. Von Rueden is an active member of NeoCardial’s design and surgical procedural team.

Mr. Robinson has over 30 years of Clinical and Corporate experience. As a clinical and research perfusionist (CCP) that includes management and clinical operation of the Heart & Lung By-Pass machine and adjunct devices during cardiovascular procedures.

Mr. Robinson assisted in the development and operation of the heart-lung machine using the first application of a centrifugal blood pump, a design that has been adapted for use as a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) by several companies.

He is the Inventor of medical devices and held management positions within corporate medical device companies ranging from very large (Medtronic, SciMed Life Systems, Boston Scientific) to smaller private and public companies (BioMedicus, Medtronic, Promethean Medical).

Mr. Robinson received his Board Certification as a Clinical Perfusionist in 1972 and was appointed Fellow of the American Society of Extra-corporeal Technology in 1973.

Mr. Robinson assisted in the development of several devices and component systems during his career; he is the holder of 4 U.S. Patents of medical devices with several pending.

Dr. Joyce is a Cardiothoracic surgeon and Professor of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Medical School and Clinic, Rochester, MN.

Dr. Joyce received his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and his PhD. from the University of Minnesota.

He completed his general surgery residency at University of Minnesota Hospitals, a cardiovascular pathology residency at Miller Hospital in St. Paul MN and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship training at the University of Utah.

Dr. Joyce is considered a leader in the advancement of cardiac surgery. As co-surgeon, he implanted the first Jarvik total artificial heart in 1982.

Additionally Dr. Joyce implanted the first artificial heart in a female and the first artificial heart in a 13 year old boy, who at the time was the youngest patient to receive an artificial heart.

A summary of his research interests include the development and clinical testing of various types of cardiac assist devices as a bridge to transplant and destination therapy, the impact of LVADs on the coagulation profile bleeding issues, the use of stem cell therapy in congestive heart failure patients undergoing LVAD placement, the surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, minimally invasive valve procedures, and ventricular restoration procedures.

The stem cell research is being done in conjunction with the University of Minnesota. The coagulation studies are conducted in conjunction with Duke University and the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Lillehei is a cardiothoracic surgeon practicing in Minnesota with Minnesota Cardiothoracic Surgeons. He has over 20 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience, all with the same partners.

He attended medical school at Mayo Clinic Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed his internship, general surgery residency and cardiothoracic fellowship all at the University of Minnesota where his father and uncle were also both cardiothoracic surgeons.

He and his partners group have performed thousands of procedures that include coronary artery bypass, valve replacement and repair, aneurysm repair, thoracic surgery, lung cancer surgery, ventricular assist device implants and heart transplants.

The Lillehei-Robinson concepts for NeoCardial products evolved from a long interest in the treatment of heart failure and heart transplantation, and the limitations of current options available for the treatment of heart failure.

Mr. Freeman’s background is in corporate development, IT, mergers and acquisitions, equity trading, European and U.S tax systems, hedge funds, commercial auditing and corporate/investment banking.

From 2003-2011, Mr. Freeman was the Founder and Managing Director of Live Wire Capital, a U.S. equity trading fund, highlights include an audited pre-tax return of 59% in fiscal 2008.

During that time he also consulted on a management level with Pan-O-Gold Baking Co., creating and implementing the company’s first electronic product tracking system, and became a member of the Florida Bar in 2012.

He has worked for Deutsche Bank, AG (Global Banking – Düsseldorf, DE), Deloitte & Touche, GmbH (Large Cap Insurance / Reinsurance – Cologne, DE), Franz Haniel & Cie (M&A in the Retail, B2B, Concrete, Steel, and Pharmaceutical industries – Duisburg, DE) and Haniel Group Shanghai (Shanghai, CN).

Dr. Kallok has over 30 years of experience in Companies ranging from very large (Medtronic, Boston Scientific) to smaller public and private companies (Angeion, Myocor).

Presently he is the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Phraxis Inc. an early stage medical device company founded to develop novel treatment solutions for patients who need vascular access to enable hemodialysis.

Most recently, Dr. Kallok was President and CEO of Cardiovascular Systems, Inc., (NASDAQ CSII), leading the company from startup to a valuation of $150 million in 5 years. He stepped aside in 2007 to assume the role of Chief Scientific Office until his retirement with the public debut of CSII in 2009.

Dr. Kallok holds over 17 U.S. patents, has published over 90 manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters, and was recipient of Medtronic’s highest technical award (Bakken Fellowship) and management award (Wallin Leadership Award). He has served on several public and private boards.

Dr. McTavish has a doctoral degree in biochemistry and is a practicing Patent Attorney; he is NeoCardial’s patent attorney and is an active member of the company concerning biochemistry related research involving product materials, design and application.

He is the Founder and Inventor of the products of IGF Oncology, an emerging company in the city of Birchwood, MN, developing drugs to kill cancer cells. The company strategy: attaching chemotherapy drugs to an IGF molecule (Insulin growth factor). The IGF molecule is a hormone that is related to insulin, a chemical that helps cells convert sugar into energy. Because cancer cells covert IGF, the therapy can better target sick cells.

Dr. McTavish received his PhD in biochemistry from the University of Minnesota in 1992, and worked for six years after that as a researcher.

In 2001 he graduated from law school at the University of a Minnesota and worked with the firm of Schwegman, Lundberg, Woessner & Kluth in Minneapolis.

In 2003, Dr. McTavish started his own law firm, the McTavish Patent Firm.

Dr. McTavish has drafted and prosecuted numerous patent applications involving pharmaceuticals and biotechnology inventions, as well as other inventions in the chemical, biological and mechanical arts areas.

Mr. Rissmann has over 35 years in the medical device arena that includes significant experience with active implantable medical devices.

His experience ranges from start-up founder, product inventor to senior management in large corporate device organizations that include Heartware Inc., VP, Product Development & Manufacturing, Cameron Health Inc., President (Interim) & Founder, VP Research & Development, Guidant Corp., Director Positions in R & D, Advanced Tacky Development, Leads Development, Manufacturing Quality & Test Engineering, Manager, Product Planning & Administration, Medtronic, Engineering Program Manager & Systems Manager and St. Jude Medical Inc., Manager New Product Engineering.

Mr. Rissmann holds 53 US issued patents with more pending. Education includes BSEE, MSEE and MBA; Senior Member of the IEEE. He is an active member of the NeoCardial Design & Development Team.

John A. St. Cyr, MD, PhD, a cardiovascular surgeon, received his B.A., M.S., M.D., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. He completed his general surgical training at the University of Minnesota and completed his cardiovascular surgical fellowship training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, CO. Dr. St.Cyr has extensive research credentials, is widely published, has received numerous local and national research grants, has numerous patents in various fields of interest, and has presented at both national and international meetings.

Currently, Dr. St. Cyr has 16 issued patents, 18 patents pending, and numerous provisional patent submissions. Dr. St. Cyr has consulted for many medical companies, such as a surgical/medical consultant for Medtronic, Inc. (Physiological Research Laboratories, a facility of Medtronic, Inc., Minneapolis, MN), a medical/surgical consultant for NAMSA/Integra, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN), Chief Medical Officer for RCRI, Inc.
